How We Roll

BAH-HUMBUG EGGNOG:

Thanksgiving has come and gone, that holiday music is already making your ears bleed and everyone is in the mood to drink! Last week, we brought you an amazing recipe for Hot Spiced Cider so this week we are taking you on a little trip down EggNog Lane. And before you get your panties in a knot about liking or not liking the Bah-Humbug Nog, we suggest you try this recipe and relax.

To Make a Bah-Humbug Nog:
Now, if you’re really into making this from scratch we suggest giving homemade eggnog a shot.

4 egg yolks
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon of sugar
1 pint whole milk
1 cup heavy creame
1 teaspon freshly grated nutmeg
4 egg whites

In a bowl, beat the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved. Add the milk, cream and nutmeg and stir to combine.Place the egg whites in another bowl and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Whisk the egg whites into the mixture. Chill and serve.

If you’re a lazy bah-humbug like the rest of us, go the corner store and buy your favorite Egg Nog.

How To Mix:

1. Blend all ingredients (except Egg Nog) until smooth and pour into a heat-proof mug.
2. Add boiling Egg Nog, sprinkle with nutmeg and serve.

Total Time: 3-5 minutes

Yield: 1 Drink

Ingredients:

2 oz Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur
0.5 oz Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey
4 cups of Egg Nog
2 pinch(es) of Nutmeg

Tips:

*Note: All of these Recipes should be 1/2 Egg Nog, 1/2 Liquor (Renegade Style)
If your not a Baileys & Whiskey fan try substituting with one of the following liquors:
  • Peppermint Schnapps
  • Vanilla Vodka and cinnamon
  • Kahlua Coffee Liquor

Or do it party style, in a punch bowl and call it:

Christmas Joy!

5 Oz Brandy
4 Oz Dark Rum
3 Oz Dark Creme de Cacao
1 Whole Nutmeg

Whisk together the eggnog, brandy, rum and creme de cacao together in a large punch bowl. Add a large block of ice. Grate a little nutmeg over the top of each drink when serving. Makes 8 (6 oz) punch cups.
